Don’t fool yourselves. Whoever thinks they are wise in this world should become a fool. That’s the only way they can be wise. I say this because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He catches those who think they are wise in their own clever traps.” The Scriptures also say, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise. He knows that their thoughts are worth nothing.”

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

What should our attitudes be when we approach God? What should our attitudes be in our daily lives?

Deny yourself and focus on Jesus.

Do not fool yourself thinking that you know the full truth. God doesn’t need you to know the full truth, He doesn’t want someone wiser or even as wise as Solomon. What He wants most importantly is someone who is humble.

What was the lesson at the end of Job’s story?

Humility.

Job didn’t sin. God Himself considered him blameless and upright. So why suffer?

God hadn’t completed his masterpiece. Job still lacked one fruit of the spirit.

In Job’s final defense, it becomes clear that he thought of himself more as he kept getting praise and glory and recognition from others throughout his blessed life.

God corrected it by teaching him how little he knows about the universe and its careful balance that is entirely designed and managed by God. The inner workings and functions of such that no one can even begin to comprehend.

How can we as His creation, claim to know and understand our own creator’s ways that which He himself hasn’t revealed yet?

It’s been at least 4000 years since mankind tried to understand the earth’s laws, universal truths and answering basic questions like the meaning of life and how we even came about. Yet, how much have we uncovered? And how much of that is absolute truth that we can prove?

We don’t even know how to create things from nothing. We can only build something using materials.

Just because no one has been able to answer some questions about God, doesn’t mean God can’t be real or God’s not consistent with His character.

All it means is that we're not ready for God to reveal the answers. No one is ready to face God. Moses requested God to see His glory fully. God agreed but He left out the biggest reveal, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” (Exodus 33:20)

When will we be ready? Honestly, I have no idea myself. Maybe we’ll never know. I reckon we can understand a little bit better when we finally see Him in person in heaven. However, I don’t think we’ll ever understand fully how God works because we’re talking about a supernatural being with power, control and presence that we can’t even imagine. Our own imaginations are limited, we have to always remember we are the creation, He is the Creator.

So how do we make do with our limited understanding?

It’s very simple. God doesn’t require us to know how He works.

The astounding beauty is found in the revelation- the very same supernatural God with the power to create and control all things, desires a personal and deep relationship with us. A relationship that is built on faith, trust, honor and most importantly love.

How a relationship works is not that different from our earthly relationships.

All of us need to trust our partners, have faith in them just as we are faithful to them, honor or respect them and love them to our best ability.

And maybe once we are close enough in our relationship with God and He has prepared us through His mysterious ways, He will deem us ready to understand a bit more. Blow our minds with His majesty and overwhelming glory.

Take the first step. Believe in Him. Put your pride aside.
